There are just too many remotes to keep track of at times. You can make things easier by controlling your Samsung TV and soundbar with a single remote. You may use your Samsung TV remote to manage the volume and mute your soundbar as long as it’s connected to your TV through optical cable or HDMI via ARC.
Setting the TV’s audio output and allowing the soundbar to control the TV
When you set up your TV’s audio output, you’ll be able to manage the volume of your soundbar with your remote. After you’ve set up the output, you may connect the soundbar with either a digital optical connection or an HDMI cable. After that, you’ll be able to control your TV and soundbar using the same remote.
- On your Samsung TV, navigate to Settings, Sound, and then Sound Output using the TV remote.
- Select Close after selecting your Samsung soundbar. You may now adjust the volume and silence the soundbar using your TV remote. The soundbar should turn on and off in tandem with the television.
Samsung TV remotes should be able to manage Samsung soundbars by default. If it still doesn’t work, make sure the soundbar is turned on, then press and hold the WOOFER button until the display reads “ON – TV REMOTE” (about 5 seconds). After that, you’ll have to decide whether to use an optical cable or an HDMI cable to connect.
Note: If your remote doesn’t include a WOOFER button, refer to your user manual for instructions on how to activate the TV Remote feature.
What to do if you’re using a digital optical cable to connect?
If you’re using a digital optical cable, turn on the Auto Power Link option, which will turn your soundbar on or off in sync with your TV.
- Connect the optical port on your soundbar to the optical port on your TV via a digital optical cable. Before utilizing the optical cable, make sure the plastic protective caps are removed.
- By pressing Source on the remote or the soundbar, you can switch the soundbar to D.IN mode.
- To activate or disable Auto Power Link, press and hold the left directional pad on the remote.
When the TV is switched on and off, the soundbar will turn on and off as well. Make sure the TV’s audio output is also set.
Note: Auto Power Link is enabled by default and only works with an optical connection.
